Today the city of Grodno is a major administrative center and the center of national and international importance within Euroregion Neman. It has a highly developed industry, significant scientific and social potential and a unique historical and cultural heritage. It is located at a distance of 343 km from Minsk, on the banks of the Neman River at the intersection of the transport communications of international importance Warsaw - Bialystok - Grodno - Vilnius - St. Petersburg. The area occupies 14,035 hectare, including 200 hectares of the historic center which is a complex of monuments of national importance. Grodno is home to more than 352 thousand people.


Grodno has developed industrial and production potential of multi-specialization. It employs more than 30% of economically active population, produces about 40% of all industrial and 60% of export production area. Grodno conducts foreign trade transactions with more than 110 countries.


The city of Grodno is an important transport hub. There are two railway transport corridors with access to the Republic of Poland and Lithuania. The transportation of cargo in wagons of narrow (European) gauge is possible. The nearest border crossing with the EU countries is at a distance of 15 kilometers from Grodno. Near the city there is an international airport, the runways are equipped with modern radio light technical navigation aids, allowing the airport to take aircraft and helicopters of all types.

The most important resource of social and economic development of the region is a high scientific, technical and socio-cultural potential. There are 4 higher educational institutions, 9 technical colleges and 9 vocational schools, which provide the city with qualified personnel and workers.


In the territory of the city the free economic zone "Grodnoinvest" is located that helps to intensify the investment process. Availability of production facilities, provided engineering services, an adequate pool of highly professional and skilled workers allow investors to implement their projects quickly. Tax and customs privileges for investors - the resident of the area provides them with certain advantages and benefits of doing business.
